Once you are ready to make your home into green heaven, it’s time you stick to a budget and commit to one style.

You can mix and match your plants to make a bohemian look, or a minimalist style, you can decide on a theme to give the interior that classy, coherent look. That will set things up nicely for plants, and will also help you get a balanced interior design.

Your room is where you live your life, and it’s important to make sure it’s always designed to reflect who you are. A sharp-looking, well-cared-for space that reflects your personality is one of the best ways to create a welcoming home. So let’s get started!

First, let’s talk about how to put the plants in the best way possible. The goal is to create an interior design that speaks directly to each person. Here are a few ways you can decorate the plants to enhance the interior of your room.

1. Experiment with different heights

You are free to experiment with eye level or higher while arranging your plants.  Plants such as Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees can usually only be displayed on the ground, whereas smaller plants can be displayed at any height. Here are some styling tips for getting plants off the ground:

a) You can create a lush jungle effect by placing trailing plants on shelves and letting their vines grow out.

b) Use an end table or plant stand to make your medium-sized plant stand out if it’s too large or small for a shelf.

2. Look into the corner

Areca Palms

We usually have that one corner in our homes that does not seem to fit any furniture. This is where a plant will come to your rescue to help you get the best out of that blank corner. Choose tall plants with large leaves that do not outgrow your room. These plants will help you to fill the void of the blank corner and will help you hide the imperfection of the corner by taking away the extra attention.

3. Hang out

You can turn empty spaces in your house into quirky green corners by hanging plants! It’s easy to incorporate different levels too, with tiny pots on the windows, on the walls, long hanging plants, etc. This would make the place beautiful and relaxing.

4. Use a plant as a focal point

Today, no space seems complete without a beautiful centerpiece, so why not give your favorite plants some attention?  This way you can keep the minimalist look of the room by adding a zing to the greenery.

5. Keep It Colorful

A way to play with plant color without things looking monotonous is to follow the Rule of Three from above. Typically you want to choose a primary color, a secondary color, and an accent color for the pot. Here are some other ways to make your space more colorful:

  • Change up planter colors, if you typically use white or black planters, try a neutral color like terracotta instead. You can eventually go for colorful pots.
  • If you’d like to make your leaves stand out directly, try a variegated plant. Variegated varieties include Philodendron Brasil and Pink Rubber Tree.
